Captiva Spine Gets U.S. Patent for MIS Spinal Rod

Jupiter, Fla.-based Captiva Spine Inc., has received a new patent from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for its PivoRod Articulating Minimally Invasive Spinal Rod.

Dale Mitchell, president and founder of Captiva Spine said: “The PivoRod has been purposely designed for enhanced control required during minimally invasive (percutaneous) spinal rod delivery.”

Mitchell noted that the device’s articulating spinal rod complements his company’s recent U.S. Food and Drug Administration clearance of TowerLOX MIS Pedicle Screw System that allows surgeons to perform multi-level fusions.

Captiva Spine will be exhibiting at the upcoming North American Spine Society (NASS) annual meeting held in New Orleans, La. (Oct. 9-12th).

Captiva Spine is a privately owned firm founded in 2007.
